These terms describe the basic rules for using the Redacted Forge website and public historical material.
Redacted Forge publishes historical reporting, documentary storytelling, source guidance, and editorial analysis for general informational and educational purposes. Nothing on the site is a substitute for legal, medical, financial, or other licensed professional advice.
Historical conclusions may be corrected, narrowed, reopened, or updated when stronger evidence appears. A published page records the best supported conclusion at that time; it is not a promise that future evidence can never change the record.
Redacted Forge may combine original writing, design, animation, analysis, public-domain material, licensed material, quotations, and linked sources. Reuse of Redacted Forge material should follow the guidance on the Cite & Reuse page and must not misrepresent Redacted Forge as endorsing a changed or decontextualized claim.
If you voluntarily submit a historical question, source lead, correction, or other material, you confirm that you have the right to provide it for editorial consideration. Submitting material does not guarantee publication, investigation, credit, or a particular conclusion.
The site may link to archives, libraries, government records, video platforms, newsletters, retailers, or other third-party services. Redacted Forge does not control every external service and is not responsible for changes those services make to their availability, terms, or content.
Do not use the site to interfere with its operation, attempt unauthorized access, distribute malicious code, impersonate Redacted Forge, or falsely present altered material as an official Redacted Forge record or verdict.
